Port Campbell
Port Campbell is a coastal town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Great Ocean Road, west of the Twelve Apostles, in the Corangamite Shire. The town was settled in the 1870s, with the first wharf being built in 1880. The town now serves tourists visiting the Twelve Apostles and the Port Campbell National Park, as well as maintaining a small crayfishing community. A discovery walk takes visitors along the top of the cliffs to Two Mile Bay. There is an extensive network of boardwalks that enable visitoes to view the Twelve Apostles. For those a little more adventurous there is the occassional fishing track to follow. There are a number of attractions in and around Port Campbell including the Jetty which is a good spot to try your luck fishing or just watching the fishing fleet come and go. the Loch Ard Shipwreck Museum, London Bridge, Fair Penguins, Mutton Bird Island, Port Campbell Beach, The Twelve Apostles and Two Mile Bay. |
