St Johns Lutheran ChurchGeelong Historic Buildings
The former St Andrew`s Presbyterian Church was erected in 1841-42, the foundation stone being laid by pioneer Geelong resident, Dr Alexander Thomson, on 22 March 1841. Geelong architect/surveyor A J Skene designed this rectangular plan Georgian style Church which was built of Barrabool freestone by masons Somerville and Marr. The two storey stucco rendered conservative classical style building fronting the original Church was erected c 1912.
