Built in 1855, and restored in 1917 in accordance with the original designs by Joseph Reed, The Geelong Town Hall is a fine example of Victorian architecture and is the centre of administration for the City of Geelong. It remains one of the oldest centres of local government having been in use since 1856. The area around the town hall includes the courthouse, art gallery, library, war memorial, Johnstone Park, and the state administration offices.
