Corio - Brougham Street

 Conservation Area

Geelong Historic Buildings

The conservation area is bounded by Brougham Street, Eastern Beach, Swanston Street, Corio Street and Clare Place, plus No's. 6, 8 and 10 Bellarine Street; all properties abutting McCann Place, Codgers Place and Fyfe Place; and all properties abutting the south-western side of Corio Street between Clare Street and Swanston Street, with the exception of the properties between Gore Place and Emerald Place and between Blakiston Street and Treacy Place, Geelong

This area is one of Geelong`s oldest residential areas which remains intact and well preserved. It contains some very early cottages, bluestone warehouses, small industrial buildings, commercial buildings and Geelong`s notable woolstore area. Unfortunately the Bow Truss building was demolished in May 1990.
