Belleville at Geelong is a well preserved a Gothic styled villa with many of the the essential design features intact. The Gothic front fence which combines timber framing with iron baluster panels is also in good original condition. Belleville was built in 1870 for David Boswell Reid, a distinguished Geelong surgeon. Belleville was the work of the noted architectural firm of Davidson and Henderson and incorporated the latest Victorian era Gothic imagery and dichromatic brickwork to Geelong. The interior is are detailed with the iron balustraded staircase, plaster ceilings and a billiard room which was added in 1874.
