The Balyang Sanctuary picnic area is the ideal place to enjoy a picnic and a family bike ride. The following is an easy ride which begins at the Balyany Sanctuary picnic area and has a distance of approximately 6km's. 

• Turn right from Balyang Sanctuary along river path (North West).  Continue on to go under Princess Bridge (Shannon Avenue Bridge).
• 1 km – Barwon Edge Boathouse Café and kiosk
• 2.8 km – Queens Park Bridge.  Go under the bridge and take the immediate right turn onto path which crosses the bridge via a cycling/walking path.  (Very picturesque bridge – single motor vehicle lane)
• Follow the path to right on exiting the bridge and continue back under the bridge on southern (Highton/Belmont) side.
• 5.5 km Princess Bridge - go under bridge and turn right onto path to cross bridge on footpath. 
• Follow path over bridge and down back into Balyang Sanctuary
